Our Story
Born in Machame.
Built for the community.
Lola Adventures is run by Omega, a born-and-raised Machame local and passionate community guide. Growing up on the fertile slopes of Kilimanjaro, Omega developed a deep love for the land, the wildlife, and the rich Chagga culture of his home village.
Every tour is designed to benefit Machame directly — from the farmers who welcome you onto their land to the artisans who share their craft. Sustainable tourism, to us, means touching people's lives, exchanging life and culture experiences, providing opportunities and building friendships.
Whether you're trekking Kilimanjaro or just passing through Moshi, a day with Lola Adventures shows you a Tanzania most visitors never see.

Brew with the Chagga
Full dayCome as a visitor, leave as a friend. Sit among the Chagga people, share their stories, and roll up your sleeves as you join in the age-old art of brewing — from the bold flavors of fresh Kilimanjaro coffee to the legendary Chagga banana brew. More than just a taste, this is a moment of genuine human connection — where culture is not observed from a distance, but lived, felt, and savored one cup at a time.

Maasai Land
Half dayNestled on the western slopes of Kilimanjaro, the Maasai have shared this land with their Chagga neighbours for centuries — a relationship once defined by rivalry over cattle and resources, but long transformed into a bond of trade, respect, and friendship. Today, the Maasai continue their timeless nomadic life across the golden semi-arid plains. As the sun begins to set, you are warmly welcomed to join the Maasai women and men in one of their most cherished daily rituals — milking their beloved cattle. Hands guided by gentle instruction, laughter shared across language, this is not just an activity — it is a moment of true connection with a people and a way of life unlike any other.

Bee Tour
3 hoursVisit the traditional Chagga stingless bee farming, learn about the bees, the harvesting techniques passed down through generations, and get a chance to taste fresh local honey.

Birdwatching Adventure
Full daySpot endemic and migratory species in the Kilimanjaro cloud forest — ideal for birding enthusiasts. From the special native Hartlaub's turaco to the Silver-cheeked Hornbill, this guided walk follows river valleys and untouched rainforest, offering rare encounters with the mountain's most colourful wildlife and the lush ecosystems they call home.
Come explore Tanzania the way it was meant to be seen — authentically, deeply, and unforgettably.

Tarangire riverTarangire National Park
Half–full dayTarangire is the land of giants — both in flora and fauna. Vast herds of elephants roam beneath ancient baobab trees, while giraffe, impala and warthog graze the open plains. The Tarangire River is the park's beating heart, drawing wildlife from miles around — and if you're lucky, you'll spot its elusive predators: leopards, lions and cheetahs.
Mount Meru ViewsArusha National Park
Half–full dayArusha National Park sits in the corridor between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro — a route elephants have travelled for generations. Small but stunning, it offers rainforest, crater views, and the flamingo-filled Momela Lakes in a single visit. Look out for giraffe, buffalo, zebra, warthog and the playful black-and-white colobus monkeys, all framed by views of Meru and Kili.

Kind words from the road.
Omega didn't just show us his village — he made us feel like we'd been invited home. The bee tour and the lunch with his neighbours was the highlight of our entire Tanzania trip.
The most authentic cultural experience I've had in East Africa. We learned, laughed, ate incredible food, and left with friends. I'd recommend Lola Adventures to anyone.
We came for Kilimanjaro and stayed an extra week because of Omega. The Machame village day was unforgettable. Genuine, generous, professional.
